Changes to AITT Instructor course

Following a recent AITT standards committee meeting, it has been agreed that the certificate prerequisite for the AITT instructor course will be changed.

Changes to the course prerequisite will now mean that candidates attending the 10-day AITT instructor course, must provide a current operator certificate issued by an ABA accredited training provider, or an ABA registered instructor (AITT, RTITB, NPORS, ITSSAR or LANTRA) within 3 years of the commencement of the course.

The certificate must be relevant for the course being attended, (e.g., Counterbalance or Reach), and the instructor/examiners registration number must be displayed on the certificate, which can be verified by the relevant accrediting body.

Any candidate that attends the course without the above being in place, will not be registered as an AITT instructor.

This change will take effect from 1st August 2022.

A new version of AF014 - Instructor Registration Application will be available from the AITT Members area and should be used from 1st August 2022 onwards.
