CITB 3rd Party Awarding Organsation
We are please to announce we are 3rd Party Approved Awarding Organisation
Who are CITB?
CITB helps the construction sector to attract talent and supports skills development through industry training opportunities.
What is a third party awarding organisation?
As a third party awarding organisation, it is AITT’s role to provide qualifications for courses delivered by training providers.
Under the CITB Training Model, AITT accreditation will apply to a variety of work-based transport, including industrial forklifts, rough terrain mastedforklifts, telescopic handlers, tracked and wheeled loading shovels, mobile elevating work platforms, lorry loaders and slinger/signaller duties.
How will this benefit AITT Training Providers?
As AITT is a third party awarding organisation, AITT Training Providers can now apply to become a CITB Approved Training organisation (ATO) for the construction industry.
Why become a CITB ATO?
Training providers that successfully complete the CITB application process will be identified by the construction industry as quality organisations that work to a defined industry-approved standard.
A CITB ATO can advertise its courses on the CITB Construction Training Register and Construction Training Directory, allowing wider promotion to those interested in working in the construction sector.
ATOs are also part of CITB’s automated grant payments system, which can be an attractive selling point to employers who want to book staff on courses, as the tool enables them to easily receive reimbursements.
How can AITT members apply?
Details on application criteria and how to apply to become an ATO can be found on the CITB website here:
