Return of Physical Audits (COVID-19)
During the lockdown AITT conducted electronic audits of AITT training providers, via video conferencing software. This was to ensure training providers were still being adequately monitored without the need of putting both ourselves and our providers at risk.
We successfully undertook 23 in total and thank you for everyone who cooperated during this transition.
The audits have been well received. So much so, we now plan to offer this as a permanent option for our training providers, providing they do not have outstanding sanctions, and a physical visit is still done every alternate year.
From the 1st June, We will be re-introducing our physical audits for training providers who opted for extensions instead of electronic audits. Therefore, AITT when possible, and safe to do so, we will be sending our auditors to conduct monitoring and accreditation visits when required.
We will also be taking additional measures to make sure the audits will be completed inline with COVID-19 government guidance.
We are also going to introduce a new section into our standard audit documentation, which will cover a “COVID Secure” section, to ensure all AITT training providers are adopting our guidance at both their training centres, and when working on customer sites.
The guidance produced by AITT and via consultation with the HSE, has been recently updated to now include the "Loss of smell, and taste" as a known symptom.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon, in person, when safe to do so.
