UPDATED: Guidance for safe training during COVID-19

Updated guidance for safe training during COVID-19

Due to the ever changing landscape of government guidance issued, today (12th August 2020) we have revised our guidelines for those involved in materials handling equipment training amid the current pandemic.

The HSE stated that training remains an essential requirement, as employers have a duty to ensure that staff are trained and competent to operate industrial lift truck equipment.

Following consultation with the HSE, we have revised our guidance document that can be referenced when training courses take place on site. For example, this includes instructions for adapting classroom-based training, rules on PPE, and measures for practical training.

Some of the changes within the guidance include the use of face covering, new social distancing, and training on close contact machinery.
